« Il s’agit d’une animation procédurale qui, par conséquent, s’exécute en toute autonomie. Les artistes, à la manière d’urbanistes, ayant établi des règles ou algorithmes qui permettent à leur cité virtuelle de se développer à l’infini. Ce qui est saisissant, au premier regard, c’est son extrême perfection. Les pavillons se répétant à perte de vue sont si parfaits qu’il nous apparaît que les artistes ont omis toutes ouvertures, portes ou fenêtres. Comme si les habitants de cette cité idéale s’étaient emmurés dans leurs certitudes. On pense alors inévitablement aux utopies urbaines contemporaines que sont les gated communities permettant aux plus riches d’entre nous d’extraire leurs maisons, jardins et piscines du reste du monde. Ce qui nous renvoie à l’idée même d’utopie que le chanoine Thomas More développa en son temps dans un récit de 1518 intitulé Utopia. Où l’île d’Utopie, par son inaccessibilité, protège ses habitants des possibles influences ou cultures du monde extérieur. »

 "It is a procedural animation which, consequently, runs in total autonomy. The artists, acting as urban planners, have established rules or algorithms that allow their virtual city to develop infinitely. What is striking at first glance is its extreme perfection. The pavilions repeating as far as the eye can see are so perfect that it seems the artists have omitted all openings, doors or windows. As if the inhabitants of this ideal city had walled themselves into their certainties. One inevitably thinks of contemporary urban utopias such as gated communities, allowing the wealthiest among us to extract their houses, gardens, and swimming pools from the rest of the world. This brings us back to the very idea of utopia that Thomas More developed in his time in a 1518 narrative entitled Utopia. There, the island of Utopia, through its inaccessibility, protects its inhabitants from the possible influences or cultures of the outside world."
